Do You Want A Toyota Tundra That Can Bake You A Pizza?

If you love pizza (who doesn’t needs their head checked), you are going to love what the sales associates of used cars in Orange County have just found. There is actually a Toyota Tundra that can make Pizza Hut pizzas on tap.

This innovative invention follows up on the companies’ first blueprint for a fleet of driverless delivery vans and sees Toyota team up with Pizza Hut once again. Employees at the dealer of used cars for sale in Orange County tell us that this time the dynamic duo has built a zero-emission pickup with a robotic pizza-making factory in the truck bed! So, many customers of used cars in Orange County are shocked when they hear this.

The vehicle has been nicknamed the Tundra PIE Pro and it is programmed to have the pizza pies freshly baked as you drive to your delivery destination.

What Do You Get In The Tundra PIE Pro?

If you are strangely interested in the Tundra PIE Pro, your associate at the dealer of used cars in Orange County can tell you more about it. The uniquely designed vehicle is equipped with a refrigerator, a pair of computer-guided articulating robotic arms from Nachi robotics systems, and a portable, high-efficiency conveyor oven. Similar to the truck itself, all the kitchen components can be powered by a hydrogen fuel cell electric powertrain.

Toyota claims that the automated pizza-making process takes around six to seven minutes from start to finish. Also, it boasts the vehicle’s zero-emission features, since the Tundra and all of its equipment are powered by a hydrogen fuel cell electric powertrain.

How Does The Tundra PIE Pro Make A Pizza?

It is virtually a pizza factory on wheels, and it is also referred to as “The Kitchen”. When the pizza-making process starts, the first robotic arm opens the refrigerator and removes the selected pizza, places it on the oven conveyor, and returns to close the refrigerator door. a second robot arm transfers the finished pie onto a cutting board, divides the pizza into six pieces, and slides it into a pizza box.

“We are constantly focused on evolving our processes and systems through improvements and innovations that allow our team members and drivers to better serve our customers,” said Nicolas Burquier, Chief Customer and Operations Officer, Pizza Hut, U.S. “We are exploring next-generation solutions and automation to support and streamline our delivery business in the future. The Tundra PIE Pro and our work with Toyota are only helping accelerate our commitment to transform both the team member and the customer experience at Pizza Hut.”

Why Incorporate Pizza With A Toyota Tundra?

The Tundra PIE Pro was built to make pizza while on the go. This presents a pioneering opportunity for Pizza Hut to expand its delivery radius without reducing the quality of the pizza. It also allows a large base of customers to have an oven-hot Pizza Hut pizza delivered to their doorstep.

“Nothing tastes better than a fresh Pizza Hut pizza straight out of the oven,” said Marianne Radley, Chief Brand Officer, Pizza Hut. “The Tundra PIE Pro brings to life our passion for innovation not just on our menu but in digital and delivery in order to provide the best possible customer experience.”

How Is The Tundra PIE Pro Built?

Tundra PIE Pro started off as a Tundra SR5 which was ripped apart to a bare rolling chassis ad then put back together again from the ground up. The traditional gasoline-powered drivetrain was taken off and put back together with a hydrogen fuel-cell electric power unit that was adapted from a Toyota Mirai.

When a customer orders a Pizza Hut pizza, the first robotic arm opens the refrigerator and takes out the selected pizza, puts it on the oven conveyor, and goes back to close the refrigerator door. Then, the pizza is sent through a high-speed ventless oven. On the other side that is a little further away, a second arm removes the finished pie, places it on the cutting board, cuts it into six identical slices, places it in a box, and delivers the pizza to the customer.

2020 Toyota Tundra

If a pizza-making Toyota Tundra isn’t calling your name, you can still opt for a typical truck from the dealer of used cars in Orange County such as Toyota of Orange. If your budget cannot handle a brand new truck, the 2020 model year is just as good.

Besides the pizza-making feature, the Toyota Tundra has got some updates over the years, which include a new look and some impressive modern safety equipment.

For the 2020 model year, Toyota gave the Tundra one powertrain and that is a 5.7-liter V8. However, last year, a 4.6-liter V8 was standard and the 5.7-liter optional, however, Toyota got rid of the smaller engine for the time being. Also, the 2020 Tundra got everybody excited when it came out because it finally offered Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The 2020 Toyota Tundra is a full-size pickup available in five trim levels which are SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794 Edition, and TRD Pro. All 2020 Tundras are equipped with a 5.7-liter V8 that produces 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque and is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. From there, you’ll pick a body style from the regular Double Cab, Crew Cab, or the extra-large CrewMax) and one of the three-bed lengths.

The SR trim includes standard equipment such as an integrated trailer brake controller, a tilt-only steering wheel, Bluetooth, a 7-inch touchscreen interface, and a six-speaker sound system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Also, it includes forward collision warning and mitigation with automatic braking, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, and adaptive cruise control.

Opting for the SR5 mainly avails you of an upgraded 8-inch infotainment interface and some optional extras such as front bucket seats, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, and a larger 38-gallon gas tank.

The Limited has the same features as the SR5 but more. For instance, this trim gains bigger wheels, movable tie-down cleats, automatic dual-zone climate control, leather upholstery, an upgraded power driver’s seat, and an upgraded infotainment system with navigation.

The top-notch Platinum trim comes with extras such as a sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats, and a 12-speaker JBL sound system. The 1794 Edition has some slight differences from the Platinum with the addition of some exclusive exterior and interior styling elements.
