What We Know Of The 2022 Toyota Sienna Woodland So Far

The Orange auto sales reps are noticing that Toyota wants to make the usually humdrum minivan that appeals more to families on the go to attract more of its SUV shoppers. The Japanese car company is getting everyone excited at Orange County auto sales because it appears to be a rough and tough version of a classic family vehicle for the more adventurous buyers.

Another great reason to buy the 2022 Toyota Sienna Woodland when it comes to Orange auto sales later this year is that the carmaker has promised to donate some money from every sale to a worthy cause, the National Environmental Education Foundation.

What Is New For The 2022 Sienna Woodland Special Edition?

So, what is so exciting about this brand new Sienna? By the looks of things, the 2022 Sienna Woodland Special Edition minivan is ready to serve you extra ground clearance, standard all-wheel drive, a slightly raised suspension setup, a tow hitch, a roof rack, and a 1,500-watt power outlet.

The sales representatives at Orange auto sales tell us there isn’t much difference in the new edition Sienna’s set up to the other trim levels since it still has the same all-wheel-drive arrangement. Its main features are the additional electric motor for the rear axle to complement the hybrid drivetrain that uses a 2.5-liter inline-four gasoline engine.

The only difference with the Woodland Edition is a mechanical change which is an 0.6-inch suspension lift that makes for a total of 6.9 inches of ground clearance (that’s 1.1 inches less than the Highlander SUV, just so you have something to compare it to).

The towing rate is no different either. You can still drag a heavy 3,500 pounds behind the Sienna, which is sufficient for an all-terrain vehicle or your personal watercraft but may not be what you are looking for when it comes to tow a family camper trailer.

The 1,500-watt power outlet is very handy when you have to power your personal items on a day trip or camping excursion. As a matter of fact, it is a generous amount of power given that most vehicles only provide the usual 150-400 watt outlets for in-cabin use. The vehicle’s top is equipped with standard roof rails with crossbars if you require additional carrying capacity.

The 2022 Sienna Woodland Special Edition’s Appearance

Although the vehicle is marketed as a “woodsy” form of transportation, at first glance, you wouldn’t think that was the case. In a nutshell, it doesn’t scream rustic alfresco. First of all, the 2022 Sienna Woodland is available in two colors which are Midnight Black Metallic and Cement Grey.

Also, the car’s exterior is accentuated with blacked-out chrome and black badging, and 18-inch wheels are a standard feature. The interior is a mix of black sport-trimmed seats with unique stitching throughout, accented by dark faux wood trim.

If you are a regular Sienna driver/buyer, then you will appreciate the fact that Toyota kept the minivan’s flexible and useful interior style with standard super-long-slide second-row captain’s chairs, Split & Stow Third Row Seat, kick-activated sliding side doors, heated front seats, sunshades in the second row and a full nine yards of seven USB ports throughout the interior.

If you are planning long road trips, you can be assured that everyone on board will stay well behaved and quiet since they will be entertained with the standard navigation/infotainment system with a 1,200-watt JBL premium audio system and 12 speakers.

How Much Will The 2022 Sienna Woodland Special Edition Cost?

No one knows yet how much Toyota will be asking for the 2022 Sienna Woodland Special Edition. However, we should be able to see the vehicle in real life at dealers this fall. Toyota has agreed to donate $250 for every one sold to the National Environmental Education Foundation, with a guaranteed minimum donation of $250,000.

If you were to ask, what makes the 2022 Sienna Woodland Special Edition outdoorsy? The only explanation would have to be the fact that $250 from every sale is going to a worthy environmental cause. This is just an assumption since there is no sign of any earthy colors, special durable interior fabrics, or even a set of rubber all-weather floor mats.

Can’t Wait For The 2022 Sienna Model?

If you are desperately seeking a minivan that is the perfect family hauler and has a fuel gauge that seems not to move at all, you should scope out the 2021 Toyota Sienna.

The Japanese car company redesigned the Sienna for the 2021 model year. Besides the obvious bolder appearance on the outside, a fancier aesthetic within its interior, and a whole host of new features, Toyota also added a hybrid powertrain for every new Sienna. This new engine is so efficient that you could drive the Sienna around for an entire week and not see the fuel gauge needle move a tick.

The 2021 Toyota Sienna can get up to 35 mpg in the city, 36 mpg on the highway, and an average of 35 mpg in combined driving. After learning about those stats, it is not surprising you are saving a lot of money on your next trip to the fuel pump.

If you want to be extra meticulous, you can compare with the outgoing 2020 model, which is equipped with a V6 engine and an all-wheel drivetrain. This vehicle reached an EPA-estimated of 18 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway.

So, that means this newer model can get double the city fuel economy. With that being said, it is no wonder that Toyota decided it would be the best solution to deck out every Sienna with the hybrid powertrain.

Overall, it is just something to chew on if you are one of those people who have recently become a designated driver for a posse of people and need a vehicle that can provide an enjoyable and comfortable ride while still remaining economical.
