What To Anticipate In The 2023 Sequoia

The-sales-reps-at-Toyota-in-Irvine-Ca-have-some-interesting-details-about-the-2023-Sequoia

Everyone at Toyota in Irvine, Ca, is starting to party like it’s 2023 because they are all giddy about the new Sequoia model. Yes, they know that 2022 is just around the corner, and they have some time to wait till then, but they are still excited just the same. Do you want to know why? Stay tuned and keep on reading below.

At Irvine car dealerships, a new generation of the 2022 Toyota Tundra full-size pickup truck will launch shortly, which means the new Sequoia three-row SUV will make an appearance any minute now. Like the previous two generations, the Sequoia is a sort of Doppelganger to the Tundra. These two Toyotas at Toyota in Irvine, Ca, will have a modernized platform and new six-cylinder powertrains, maybe even including a hybrid.

Driving

Toyota is staying ahead of the competition with their new trucks because of their body-on-frame platform derived from the newly launched 300-series land Cruiser. The Land Cruiser and Tundra are two vehicles at Toyota in Irvine, Ca, that use a solid rear axle. Still, the Sequoia will probably carry on to have an independent rear suspension setup, typical of three-row SUVs. Unfortunately, this most recent addition to the Land Cruiser lineup won’t be available for the U.S. market. However, its prestigious Lexus LX counterpart most likely will be. That means that the Sequoia will essentially replace the Land Cruiser at the final end of Toyota’s U.S. SUV lineup.

At the moment, the Sequoia drives 381-hp, but it will probably be replaced by a twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V-6 engine that is also expected to power the new Tundra. This engine produces 409 ponies and 479 pound-feet of torque in the Land Cruiser. A hybrid drivetrain utilizing this advanced six-cylinder is also a probability thanks to Toyota’s new iForce MAX powertrain. Each powertrain will match a 10-speed automatic transmission, and rear- and four-wheel drive configurations will also be available.

To compare, the 2022 Toyota Tundra can tow 12,000 pounds when equipped with the iFORCE MAX. The 2023 Toyota Sequoia will probably be a little heavier than the Tundra. Therefore, we can expect its tow rating to go down to 10,000 and 11,000 pounds.

Toyota hasn’t released fuel mileage figures for the 2022 Tundra. But the turbocharged V6 should sip fuel when it isn’t towing. In addition, the hybrid drivetrain’s regenerative braking further increases mpg. Therefore, car experts anticipate this drivetrain will achieve fuel mileage in the mid-20s.

Tech and Comfort

Once inside Toyota’s biggest SUV, you will notice it finally got that much-needed revamp that everyone was waiting for. There should be at least four to six trims to select from, each with different themes. One of them will include an opulently equipped Platnum model draped in leather and crammed with all the up-to-date tech features. That means lower trims receive an 8.0-inch touchscreen and the higher trims enjoy a 12.3-inch display. These larger center-mounted touchscreens will be equipped with Apple CarPlay capability and a JBL sound system.

There is a big chance the 2023 Sequoia will keep its analog gauges with a 7.0-inch instrument cluster display in the middle rather than opting for a fully digital setup. The second-row captain’s chairs will stay as an option on lesser versions and standard on the top-of-the-line Platinum. No one knows yet whether the Sequoia receives the ottomans that exist in the Sienna.

When it comes to giving the driver a helping hand on the road, the Sequoia will get a full safety suite as standard in keeping with Toyota’s commitment to safety. Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ is the most up-to-date version, which builds on past versions by adding automatic emergency braking capability in intersections and emergency steering assistance. A modern version with even more capabilities could eventually launch in the 2023 Sequoia, giving it some level of semi-autonomous driving.

2023 Toyota Sequoia Hybrid

As mentioned before, just like before, the new Sequoia will be closely related to the recent Tundra. If you look at things from this perspective, the new Sequoia will act as a replacement for the Land Cruiser 200 in the States.

The forthcoming Toyota Sequoia may twin the Tundra in the front, but it will appear more stable than the truck. This truck generates 437 horsepower and 583 pound-feet of torque. The 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 is a combination of a gasoline engine and electric motor. The 288V nickel-metal hydride (Ni-MH) battery can operate the engine and is liable for a 10-speed automatic transmission to power the wheels of the SUV. The 2023 Toyota Sequoia Hybrid powertrain could obtain the new Tundra i-Force Max Data Powered Power.

Release Date and Price

The new 2023 Toyota Sequoia will most likely hit make an appearance sometime in the next year. Many car experts believe it could come out in the first quarter of next year, while sales might happen in late summer or early fall. We can envisage a more aggressive face with the new generation, lots of standard equipment, and more driver aids. Pricing is also not officially revealed yet, but we assume the next Sequoia’s pricing to stay near to the current $51,700-$70,000 benchmark.

The 2023 Toyota Sequoia will be a totally different beast from the models we will see out and about today. As the years go by, electrified powertrains are the norm, and the Sequoia will no longer be that massive V8-powered Toyota you got because it was spacious, smooth, and gave you longevity. When the new one arrives, it’ll still keep the same virtues you expect out of a Toyota vehicle. Only this time, you’ll get loads more torque on tap and exceptional efficiency, along with all the reasons you purchase a full-size SUV. Electrification may just give the Sequoia a way to stand out from the crowd even more as SUVs carry on to take over the market.
