You are not a true car enthusiast until you have religiously watched the Fast & The Furious movies. And according to the dealers of used cars near Santa Ana, you are a true motorhead if you remember the scene in the film when O’Connor’s Supra surpasses a Ferrari. Undoubtedly, this is one of the best highlights of the car, the movie, and Supra lovers at the dealer of new and used cars serving Santa Ana

The year 2021 brought two amazing things with it. First of all, everyone was more relaxed at the fact that the new millennium wasn’t going to be the culprit that crashes the internet and disrupts your favorite online sites. Secondly, the Fast & The Furious franchise showcased the most insane cars that buyers of new and used cars near Santa Ana love so much.

Also, and this is beside the point but good to mention, that it was a time that Paul Walker become a household star, even though he was an actor with some experience, and Vin Diesel became an even bigger celebrity.

The Fast & The Furious did a great job at featuring muscle cars and death-defying races. However, the car that stole the show was one that came from Japan, and it was the 1993 Toyota Supra, which became the 10-second car of the movie.

If you don’t know the plot of the movie, the guys of new and used cars near Santa Ana are more than happy to tell you about it. In a nutshell, when Dom’s car is destroyed and he is nursing a wounded shoulder, Brian (Paul Walker) loans him the Supra. And when the whole world lost Paul Walker in real life in a flaming crash, the movie franchise said goodbye in a metaphorical drive down the highway towards a bright future, in a white Supra.

So, let’s find out where that stunning orange paul Walker Toyota Supra from the first Fast and the Furious is today.

The Toyota Supra’s Life

Surprisingly to many, the Toyota Supra didn’t start off as a separate nameplate. The car actually debuted as a sporty trim of the Toyota Celica in the 1970s. During this time, the Celica Supra had a longer wheelbase and better engines as well as enough presence in the market to get its own nameplate in 1986.

Also, believe it or not, the world had to take a moment to accept the Supra. The Supra’s fourth generation, MK IV is when everything got better for the Supra and its fans, with two engine options, one of which produced 220 ponies and the other that delivered 276 horses although these were capped numbers and not the confirmed ones.

The Supra has an open-engine format, which essentially means that playing around with it was very easy for many people, and they often took the output up to 500 horsepower and over. This was the reason why the Supra was equipped with powerful brakes and a sturdy suspension. There were also simple details such as hollow carpets, an aluminum hood, and a rear spoiler to reduce the car’s weight.

The 10-Second Car

Again, for those of you who haven’t got a clue about the movie, there is a scene in the Fast and the Furious when Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker) plays an undercover cop out to infiltrate a chop-shop to arrest the perpetrators and put an end to the racket. Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) owns this chop-shop. The Toyota Supra is the cover car that O’Connor works on, pimping it up to illegally race the streets at night and make money off the winning bets.

Plus, there is a terrific scene in the movie when O’Connor’s Supra beats a Ferrari, and it is one of the highlights of the car as well as the movie. Nevertheless, it is the last few minutes of the movie, where the Supra really leaves an impression. The two are more frenemies than friends, race against each other more to prove their boldness rather than to make money. The bright orange Toyota Supra looks awesome on screen.

Both cross a railway track at a split second and as they soar in the air, the train rushes past behind them, missing them by a hair. It is a lot of movie build-up, but it is all very thrilling to watch! A few seconds later, Dom’s car crashes and he injures his arm. O’Connor can hear the sirens coming closer, and he fears he could lose his badge over this, so he offers Dom the Supra to make a fast getaway. So, not only was O’Connor a hero, the Supra was one too!

Where Is The Supra Today?

Since it was a movie car, it is not the only orange Mk IV Supra built just for the movie because there were many. Although no one cannot verify where all the cars are, or even know how many were made, however, we do know that all the Supras for the movie were made by Paul from The Shark Shop in El Segundo, California.

Craig Leiberman, who is the luckiest man on earth and was also the technical advisor for the first two F&F movies, owns one of these orange Supras.

In 2015, another Supra was sold for $185,000 at a Mecum Auction, and since it was a stunt vehicle used in the movie, it came with some sweet extras such as a full roll cage, beefed-up suspension, racing seats, and a strengthened fuel tank.

Keep in mind that Supras did not come in that amazing orange color, so that was added. Also, other extras were all those amazing graphics to add extra attraction and so were the Bomex body kit and an APR wing.

Also, you should remember that a stock Supra wouldn’t have been that fast whether it was supercharged or not, because it had Supra’s 3.0-liter straight-six engine which is good for some 220 horses.

So, getting your hands on the original Supra isn’t going to be easy. On another note, the word on the curb is that a non-film 1993/94 model is worth under $5k. Which is a reasonable price for many die-hard Fast and the Furious fans.
